Each
congregation of the church of Christ is autonomous (self-governed)
and has no national or international headquarters. Congregations
select spiritual men who meet Scriptural qualifications to serve
as elders or spiritual shepherds of the local congregation. Deacons
serve to direct and administer specific ministries of the church.
While a congregation may have a local minister or evangelist, each
Christian is considered to be responsible for sharing the gospel
of Jesus with others. |
